Allergy 250K Adelaide School-aged Kids Camp

The National Allergy Council’s Allergy 250K Adelaide School-aged Kids Camp held from 21-22 March was another big success! We brought together 36 school-aged kids and 12 peer mentors with severe food allergies. Our allergy dietitians and the camp catering staff created a delicious menu while managing 43 different food allergies and other special dietary requirements.

Camp highlights:

  • The kids engaged in age-appropriate games and adventure activities including flying fox, archery, giant swing, giant games and parachute games.

  • The interactive health education sessions delivered valuable group discussions with volunteer health professionals including allergy nurses, allergy dietitians and psychologists.

  • The popular parent Q&A sessions gave mums and dads some helpful advice from a clinical immunology/allergy specialist and a psychologist.

  • We received so much positive feedback about the camp from the parents and the campers.
