Food Industry Conferences

10 June 2025

The National Allergy Council exhibited at the Foodservice Australia conference in Melbourne from 18 to 20 May. This was a great opportunity to promote the All about Allergens courses. We spoke with many people over the three days and made new contacts to progress our work in food service training. We then attended the Food Allergen Management Symposium in Sydney from 20 to 22 May, along with Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, ASCIA and the NACE. The National Allergy Council ran a Health Professional Symposium about understanding Precautionary Allergen Labelling (PAL) in partnership with the Allergen Bureau. This engaging and information workshop deepened participants understanding about how the food industry manages food allergens, what ‘may contain’ statements mean and what health professionals should be advising patients and those working in food service. Both conferences were an excellent prelude to Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia’s Food Allergy Week which focussed on travelling with food allergy.
